Change Business Kenya has built a cold room in Kinale Kiambu county which provides storage for harvested produce. This helps farmers store their yields and in turn increase the shelf life of potatoes for about 90 days whilst maintaining 90% of its nutrients, that is vitamin C and reduce the losses by upto 70%, thus minimizing food loss and wastage that occurs often when there is surplus production. This facility helps the farmer to store their produce at subsidized prices and also extends the life of fresh produce.
