Co-operative Groups

Cooperative groups plays an important role in empowering members in a community in order to improve their livelihood. These groups are created for the purpose of pooling their individual resources together to maximize their economic strength. They are organized groups  unified through principle of solidarity and joint responsibility. The benefits include mobilization of savings, issue credit facilities and pursuit of group entrepreneurial activities. The group based approach not only enables the poor to accumulate capital by-way of small savings but also help them to have access to formal credit facilities (table banking). Cooperative groups are a significant tool for participatory approach for economic empowerment of a community.

Change Business Kenya has economically empowered and enhanced household food security for our cooperative groups members  in Kinale Kiambu county, Karangatha  Nyandarua county and Ilbisil Kajiado county. This has been achieved through training them on sustainable farming methods,  providing financial resources for the cooperative group members to engage in their  livelihood projects such as arable farming, goat-keeping, beekeeping and poultry . After training and nurturing them, we run an initiative/campaign called ADOPT A GROUP to mobilize additional resources for the group. This is done on our social media sites, website and our existing partners.

CBK through blockchain technology links them to the market for their farm produce and enhancing  growth of their small scale-business into large scale investment entities.
